The total cost of the land at that date amounted to one and a half million rupees. As for its construction cost, it amounted to two million rupees. The mosque reflected the revolution in the development of architecture in Kuwait at that time. It was a beautiful architectural landmark with its green domes and minarets decorated with green neon lights, which the American magazine Life did not ignore on its cover in 1964, and its interior decoration was distinguished by the number of twenty-one crystal chandeliers and 14 Qur’anic panels, which were removed in 1970. As for now, we are preparing the mosque for rehabilitation and restoration work so that it can return to its original state, using a third of the money of the owner of the mosque, which he bequeathed it for good. With the grace of Allah, we have completed the licensing work, but since this mosque has an archaeological architectural character, caution must be exercised in the restoration work. Fortunately, I found two films produced in 1961 AD. These two films documented the work of preparing the mosque and the opening ceremony, as there was a contract between the late and director Muhammad Ibrahim Hassan for forty thousand rupees. I took the two films and flew with them to London, where I commissioned a specialized company to convert them into high-quality digital copies, with a duration of half an hour for each film. Through them, we were able to carefully sort out all the details of the mosque and its decorations to add them to the tender documents. I cut several clips of it, including the opening ceremony, which was sponsored by In the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mubarak—may Allah have mercy on him—and many of the good people of Kuwait, I was hoping to get to know some of these personalities to record them, and I published this clip on my personal Twitter account, and soon it received great interest and many views, so many contacted me. Here, I am mentioning some of what they commented on. I will start with our ambassador to New Zealand, Brother Ahmed Salem Al-Wahaib, who expressed his happiness and thanks for this clip in which his father appeared in several clear clips, as well as Dr. Hassan Al-Sanad, who stated that he remembers that event well, as their house was opposite the mosque, and that his grandfather, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sanad was the imam of the mosque, and he actually gave a clear sermon in this film. As for Dr. Nasser Ghoneim Al-Zaid, he believes that this film is a living Kuwaiti document chronicling fallen national figures and evidence of the people of Kuwait sharing in each other’s joys, which confirms the goodness of the Kuwaiti soul. Dr. Najib Al-Rifai says: “May Allah have mercy on those who built this blessed mosque, prayed in it, and held lessons. “Among the most prominent of them, as I remember in the seventies, was Sheikh Hassan Ayoub. May Allah have mercy on him as we and a group of young people and citizens attended his weekly lesson in this mosque on Thursdays between AL Maghreb and Al Ishaa prayers. “This mosque was the beginning of the idea of the Zakat House as the first organizing committee.” Dr. Muhammad Al-Dawayer hopes that joy and blessing will be restored in this distinguished mosque after its restoration and opening. As for Brother Yasser Jaafar, he had a precise observation that best depicted the ethics of the late Abdullah Al-Othman, as he said: “It is a beautiful thing to show pictures of the charitable deeds in Kuwait and the humility of the people behind such deeds, and what distinguishes this film is the presence of the late in the back rows and among the worshipers and not in the front lines. “May Allah reward him, grant him a good reward, forgive him, and bless his successors and predecessors.” As for brother Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al-Duaij, he says: May Allah forgive him, have mercy on him, and grant him the highest paradise. He added, “In fact, the video is widespread in all the groups that I am added to, such as the Kuwaiti Diwans group, the Kuwaiti Poetry Association group, and the groups of my friends and relatives. May Allah raise his remembrance in the afterlife just as He raised his remembrance in this world, and he continues: Frankly, the comment that most impressed me was from someone who said: “It is the good luck of Abdullah Al-Othman—may Allah have mercy on him—that since he passed away in 1965 and until today, his deeds, works, and good actions make his memory circulate among people due to his generosity and bigheartedness.” All thanks and appreciation to everyone who sent a comment or “retweeted” this film. If the article limit allowed, I would have mentioned their beautiful comments, which reflect the extent of the people of Kuwait’s attachment to this mosque. With the help of Allah, we will be able to conduct the task of rehabilitating the mosque in the best viable way.

Stay safe.

I previously wrote about the project to rehabilitate and restore the Al-Othman Mosque in Al-Nuqra area, the mosque whose land was donated…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[50518586

post-5446","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-swalfi-en
["GET
